Important Note
An over-the-counter prescription, which is required to get over-the-counter drugs
and medicines reimbursed from your FSA/HSA, should be treated the same as any prescription
for pharmaceutical products. The information and dispensing method should be prescribed
by your doctor in the same manner that prescription products are prescribed. As
a rule of thumb, since you are dealing with over-the-counter products, a year supply
would save you the time of continuing to obtain over-the-counter prescriptions on
a monthly basis, but the prescribing method should be in accordance with the policies
and procedures of your doctor. For a list of commonly prescribed over-the-counter
products, please click here.
