Sanitary Pads: FSA Eligibility

Sanitary Pads: reimbursement is not eligible with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Sanitary pads (feminine hygiene products) are not eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), health reimbursement arrangement (HRA), limited care flexible spending account (LCFSA) or a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA).

What are sanitary pads?
Feminine hygiene products are not considered to prevent, treat, mitigate, cure or diagnose a medical condition and therefore are not considered not eligible for reimbursement with a consumer-direction healthcare account (Internal Revenue Service). Feminine hygiene products are purchasable Over-the-Counter (OTC) and are often available in public restrooms. Feminine hygiene products are available in many different forms and functions to accommodate the user's personal preferences, physical needs, special considerations due to lifestyle, physical activities, clothing, etc.
