Birth Control (OTC): eligible with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Birth control (OTC) is eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA) and a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). Birth control (OTC) is not eligible for reimbursement with a limited-purpose flexible spending account (LPFSA) or a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA).

FSAs, HSAs, and HRAs may reimburse expenses incurred for OTC contraception without a prescription to the extent that the cost is not paid or reimbursed by another plan or coverage. (FAQs About Affordable Care Act Implementation Part 54)

What is birth control?

Birth control, a form of contraception, refers to the medications and devices used to intentionally prevent the chances of pregnancy, but it can also refer to sexual practices and actions that contribute to this goal as well. Of the 61 million women in traditional childbearing years (15-44), 62 percent of this population is currently using some form of contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
