Expenses Previously Reimbursed Under Another Health Plan: FSA Eligibility

Expenses Previously Reimbursed Under Another Health Plan: reimbursement is not eligible with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Expenses previously reimbursed under another health plan are not eligible for reimbursement under a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA), a limited-purpose flexible spending account (LPFSA) or a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA).

Which expenses are eligible for reimbursement?

Consumer-directed healthcare plan expenses are eligible for reimbursement if they haven’t been previously reimbursed, and can’t be reimbursed under another plan. Reimbursing expenses under any other eligible plan precludes those expenses from being reimbursed under a consumer-directed healthcare account. Doing so would be considered “double dipping” which is not allowed under IRS regulations.
