What’s a moleskin?

A moleskin is a durable piece of fabric that is soft on one side and has adhesive on the other, and is applied to the inside of shoes to prevent or help stop the pain caused by blisters. To use a moleskin, simply clean and disinfect the blister and surrounding areas, cut off a piece of moleskin slightly larger than your blister, then fold it in half and cut a half-circle portion out, just large enough for the blister. This then allows you to align your blister with the hole you made and protect the blister from rubbing on uncomfortable shoes.

Reducing friction and irritation on and around the blister protects the blister from popping if it hasn’t already, and give the blister time to heal. Moleskin can also be used to prevent a blister by placing it in areas known to blister when breaking in a new pair of shoes, or wearing a pair known to cause blisters (Healthline).
