Spend down your FSA with these 5 surprising FSA-eligible items
People are often shocked by the variety FSA eligible items.
When you’re at a drugstore, it can be difficult to tell what’s eligible. As you’re walking through the aisles, items are not always clearly marked. After a long day at work or home, the last thing you want to do is drive to the drugstore.
At FSAstore.com, we want to eliminate that confusion about eligibility.
We clearly label FSA eligible items with:
A red checkmark (these items are eligible without a prescription)
A blue rx logo (these items requires a prescription to get reimbursed by your FSA). Learn more about prescription reimbursement with your FSA.
Now let’s talk about those 5 surprising items you can buy with an FSA…
1. Breast Pumps & Accessories
Your FSA covers the cost of breast pumps and any accessories (nursing pads, storage bags, nipple shields, bottles and pump parts) that help with breast feeding. Breast pumps and baby feeding accessories do not require a prescription for FSA reimbursement.
2. Blood Pressure Monitors
Blood pressure monitors do not require a prescription for FSA reimbursement.
3. Shoe Inserts
Over-the-counter foot care (arch and insole supports, bunion and corn treatments, blister treatments, callous removers) and orthotic inserts are eligible for FSA reimbursement – these do not require a prescription.
4. Hot/Cold Packs
Hot and cold packs are covered by your FSA and can also be part of first aid kits – which are also FSA eligible.
5. Neti Pot or Warm Steam Vaporizer
Both the Neti Pot and Warm Steam Vaporizer are used to alleviate nasal congestion and general cold symptoms and therefore would be covered by an FSA.
