If you're susceptible to motion sickness, when traveling:

  1. Sit where there's the least motion;
  2. in cars, drive or sit in the front passenger's seat;
  3. on ships, reserve a cabin in the front or middle of the ship, or on the upper deck;
  4. by plane, ask for a seat over the wing; and
  5. by train, take a seat near the front and next to a window. Face forward.
  6. Focus on the horizon or on a distant, stationary object. Don't read.
  7. Keep your head still, while resting against a seat back.
  8. Don't smoke or sit near smokers.
  9. Avoid spicy and greasy foods and alcohol. Don't overeat.
  10. Eat dry crackers or drink a carbonated beverage to help settle your stomach.
  11. Get fresh air. Crack a window, go on deck, open an air vent.
  12. Wear Psi Bands, stylish, drug-free wrist bands for the relief of nausea.
