Mediscope: eligible with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA)What is a mediscope?
A mediscope resembles the standard ear, nose and throat scope device that is found in any physician's office, but has been adapted for home use for parents and caretakers. In the event of a cold, ear infection, or other malady that affects the respiratory, auditory and ocular systems, mediscopes are extremely helpful in diagnosing a medical issue, as well as tracking the progress of a treatment plan to ensure that the patient is responding to care.
Mediscopes are designed to deliver an extremely bright, pre-focused high intensity light to the eyes, ears nose and throat, as well as containing a magnifying head piece and attachments to allowed to be used on multiple parts of the body. Most mediscopes will come with infant/adult tongue depressors, ear/eye/nose speculum attachments and everything else necessary to assess the state of a loved one's state of health.
It is recommended that parents and caretakers who are using a mediscope for the first time should inspect the eyes, ears, nose and throat of loved ones before an ailment strikes to familiarize themselves with the look of healthy tissue in each of these areas. This will ensure that when illnesses strike in the future, the caretakers can quickly identify changes that can be communicated to a doctor to improve the treatment process.
