Are vitamins considered FSA-eligible expenses?
Vitamins or nutritional supplements (herbal or natural medicines) used for general health are not FSA eligible expenses. However, if vitamins are used to treat a medical condition, they may be eligible.
For example, the following vitamins are eligible with your FSA:
Prenatal vitamins – contain Folic Acid and DHA for healthy development of babies before or during pregnancy.
Glucosamine Chondroitin - Can be taken to help relieve pain associated with [osteo] arthritis. Arthritis can cause joint pain and stiffness.
