February marks National Children's Dental Health Month and you may be wondering if your dental care is an FSA-eligible expense.
Dental procedures are covered under your FSA. Cosmetic treatments (teeth whitening, for instance) are not included.
What's Covered?
- A regular visit to your dentist for preventative care including cleanings, fluoride treatments or even fillings.
- More complicated oral surgery procedures: dental reconstruction, root canals, implants and tooth removal.
- Co-pays.
- Implants, dentures, bridges, and occlusal guards to prevent teeth grinding.
- Orthodontia*: some FSAs have specific guidelines about coverage for orthodontia. Check with your benefits administrator what's covered.
- Periodontics - or the treatment of gum disease such as gingivitis.
